Monday, March 23 at 1:10p
[HUM-M06]

Be sure to reserve your space to attend Erin West’s session at this year’s RSAC conference.

Pig butchering is no longer “just” investment fraud. In the past year, these Southeast Asian scam compounds have expanded into sextortion and trafficking, fueling a multi-billion-dollar criminal empire. This session will expose new evidence and deliver a call to action for security, finance, and law enforcement to fight back.

  • Type/Format: Track Session

  • Topic: Human Element, Fraud Prevention

  • Pass Requirement: All Access, CISO Boot Camp, Cyber Leaders Forum, eFG All Access, ESAF, Media: Press/Analyst, Speaker

  • Session Classification: General

In the meantime, watch Erin’s present “Pig Butchering and the Threat of Transnational Organized Crime,” voted one of the 2025 event’s top-rated sessions.

Transnational organized crime is an underdiscussed national security threat. Tens of billions of dollars are being transferred from American hands into the pockets of known Chinese criminal syndicates. This session will discuss pig butchering and other scams perpetrated in Southeast Asia and will show points of opportunity to develop better security as the threat increases with the use of AI.
